From gross to net
Pensioners pay half of the 14.6% health insurance rate plus half of their insurer's additional contribution, and the full long-term care contribution (3.6%, or 4.2% without children). Only part of the pension is taxable: for pensions starting in 2026 it is 84%; the remaining 16% stays tax-free as a fixed euro amount for life.
